December!

I made a lot of progress, I recently reviewed my shelves critically and decided to let go more books that were not making any progress towards the top of the TBR pile. Of the original list, there are five that refuse to go yet: three are still on MntTBR and will be staying there for a while longer; I am reading one and I have another one left; these last two had been promised to BCers, and I hope to be mailing them in January or February at the latest.
I have learned to let go of books more easily with this challenge and have made some space on my shelves (which are still pretty full).

(Almost) No availables!

It startles me because, I feel like I read quite a bit, but never have availables to prove it.
I gave three books to the friend of a friend today and sent two RABCKs and one bookray by mail.
I am left with two children's books and a few in other languages, nothing attractive. It makes me feel both: accomplished, for having released some books, and also frustrated, at not having anything to give in case someone asks for a recommendation. Do you ever feel like that?

Books released today:
The Trobrianders of Papua New Guinea
Striding Folly
After the wall
With a little luck
Ghost girl
The little house

News

Thanks to the June Readathone I was able to "rescue" some books:
C is for corpse is in the mail.
The Trobrianders of Papua New Guinea is in the envelope, waiting to get mailed.
I am starting a new Bookray (After the wall) I already have the address of the first participant.
Striding Folly is marked as AVL and will probably be sent to Romania as a RABCK.
The daughter of Time (not in my original list) is now AVL.

I have just a few of the books in my original list left! :)

Another RABCK

I sent The great Gatsby along with: A connecticut yankee in king Arthur's court to violetcrumble in Australia, but I haven't heard back from them! I'm wondering if they got lost in the mail or if the BCer is no longer active :(
Also I started reading C is for corpse, which is another one of the promised reads.
I wild released a few I decided not to read after all:
Memoirs of a geisha
The spy who came in from the cold
Jian
Possession
The summons
Girl in Hyacinth blue
The diary of Ellen Rimbauer
and 20 others that were not in the official list for this challenge. I donated them to the volunteers at Peace Corps Costa Rica. I hope to get at least one JE!

Donation and an honored promise:

I was presented with the opportunity to donate some books to the nice volunteers of Peace Corps Costa Rica. I decided to give away some of my TBRs and ended up donating about 25 books.
It was a liberating experience.
I'm however puzzled as of why there isn't more space on my shelves, it is not apparent that 25 books are gone!

I also sent one of the promised books to the next reader: Catbot: "In cold blood" is on its way! :)

News

I have left this blog untouched for a few months now, but I finally have news:
I already sent A Connecticut Yankee in king Arthur's court to Violetcrumble, I also sent her The Great Gatsby, since it was on her wishlist, and moved that bookray along.
I also decided not to read the following:

• Memoirs of a Geisha
• The spy who came in from the cold
• The diary of Ellen Rimbauer

And I still feel guilty about setting them as availables, I could still change my mind...
Unfortunately I haven't been able to pass on any of the books that have been claimed by other bookcrossers, I'm sorry! You'll get your book, it will just take some time.
Believe it or not, I still haven't finished The girl in Hyacinth Blue, I've just had too much to read for my dissertation, but I have listened to several audiobooks, that I can do at night, before I fall asleep.

Girl in hyacinth blue

I'm starting this book and it seems very interesting so far!
This one doesn't have a next reader yet, so I might give it to Gringuitica after I'm done with it.
